Inquiry and Design
HTH 202: Linking Research to Practice : Instructor: Stacey Callier
This class was an introduction to the action research project, exposing us to a different kind of research than perhaps we had been used to and starting us on the process of thinking and questioning, with our fierce wonderings, and writing and reflecting on what we're drawn to as educators. For our final project, we wrote a description of where we worked and the students we worked with: Setting Description
HTH 200: Equity, Diversity & Design Principles : Instructors: Rob Riordan and Lillian Hsu
This class focused on diversity in the classroom in its many manifestations and how as educators we can become more sensitive to the different needs and realities our students face every day. For my final project, I looked at the ELL students in my class, reflecting, researching and implementing some additional support structures and activities for my class. Here's what I discovered: "Camouflaged Training Wheels?"
HTH 240: Implementing Inclusive Classrooms : Instructor: Azul Terronez
This class explores different ways to create inclusive classroom environments, both in discussion about inclusion and in modeling different structures. My final project, which is a reflection on the need not only for student choice but a supportive structure in changing student attitude can be found here: "Differentiating the Word and the World" :
HTH 216: Advanced Project Based Learning : Instrucors Rob Riordan and Jesse Wade-Robinson
This class is a great practical and theoretical exploration of pbl, with students looking at their own projects using consultancy models and examples of projects in the HTH village. For this class, I worked on creating a project around the junior class academic internship that would capture their experiences using the model of planning, management, exhibition. It can be found here:

HTH 212: Leadership for School Change : Instructors Stacey Callier, Larry Rosenstock & Edrick Macalaguim
This class looks at past and current trends in education reform and how school can most effectively be reformed. The role of teacher leaders is explored, with special focus on how we as teachers see ourselves as leaders in our school. In this class we also thought about what our dream school looked like and what steps we can take as teacher leaders to achieve our dream. Here's my dream: Dreaming and doing project
